Getting Closer

I can't believe it's already August and im 39+ weeks pregnant! We may not know for sure when the baby will come but it will definitely be this month since I can only go 2 weeks passed my due date. Although if I'm still pregnant in 4 weeks please someone just put me out of my misery!
Sunning out some of Nolan's baby clothes to share with Brother.
We are pretty much ready for him to arrive and have all the gear ready at the house for labor to start. At our 36 week ultrasound we not only found out that we were officially cleared for the home birth we had been planning (there was some concern about the location of the placenta but all is good now) but they also said baby was taking after his brother by being in the 80% for head size and weight....yay?

Baby's face at 36 weeks...or at least half a face, the other half was hiding behind my hip bone.

They estimated his head at 9.5 centimeters and a total weight of 7.5 pounds...this was 4 weeks ago! I'm not too worried though as Nolan was a good size as well but I'm hoping he doesn't get too much bigger or stay in too much longer.

In other preparation news, we got Nolan a practice baby that he sweetly named Dutch after his new cousin. He takes his baby duties very seriously and feeds him twice a day, changes his clothes, tucks him in and gives lots of kisses. It's pretty adorable and has made us feel a lot better about his ability to be gentle once the baby is here.

Big Brother Book

I found this idea where a mom /graphic designer made a photo book about her older kids when they were babies before their baby brother arrived. I have been looking for something special to give Nolan to help him transition into his role as big brother and this fit the bill. Too bad it was $35 for the template on top of the $100 software I would need to be able to customize it...uh no thanks!
A few weeks later I got an email from shutterfly with an offer for a free 8x8 photobook. Perfect! I got to work and designed something pretty close to the pinterest inspiration book using the Shutterfly software (which was unfortunately not very user friendly). It came out to be about 24 pages of how we prepared for Nolan and all the adventures we went on once he arrived. Here are a few of my favorite pages.

I was pretty happy with how it came out. I wish it would've allowed for a bit more customization but the photo quality was good and best of all Nolan loves to read it and look at all the pictures. Done and done!
