iPhone Offload: Summer Catch Up

Alright, Let's play a little catch up here. It feels like we had a pretty mellow first half of Summer and then the second half hit and we were scrambling. It feels like it might be settling back down though so I'm hopeful we can take a deep breath and catch up on all those things we pushed off. 

Let's start in August, shall we?

Nolan lost another tooth and left this stash for the tooth fairy. His tooth, a drawing of the tooth fairy and a few carrots in case she gets hungry.

If it's quiet in the house during the day it's because Miles has snuck into Nolan's room.

Our Life in Panaramic

Am I the only one who nerds out about this feature on the iPhone? I love it so much! I remember as I kid I got a disposable camera that had a panoramic option when I was going on a trip and every single picture I took was panoramic. I know it distorts things but it's just so cool! So here are a few from our Summer adventures.

Miles' First Day of School

Well, the time has come for Miles to start school. I never thought this day would come but I also feel like he was born last week...it's confusing to be a mama. I signed him up for a cooperative preschool, just like I did for Nolan's first year as well. I didn't worry about Nolan adjusting to school, I knew he would dive right in, but Miles I wasn't sure how he'd do. He's so quiet, shy and introverted, it's amazing that my boys are so different.

We talked a bit about what to expect and how I will sometimes stay with him at school and sometimes not. He seemed ready to go that morning, I was feeling optimistic!

At his school there's different rooms for different activities. Miles quickly went to the room where no one else was and lucky for him, this was also where they keep the trains. He played alone in that room for most of the day, mostly because he would scream at anyone who tried to come in (we need to work on sharing skills) and then didn't want to leave his trains for circle time either. There were a lot of tears that morning, and I grew very nervous that I had signed him up too early. But his teacher came over to help pry him away from the trains. She's a miracle worker and we ended up having a pretty good afternoon.

She even got him to put his dishes away.

After snack, he explored some other rooms and discovered the light table. 

It was a big hit for him!

And the puzzles, that kid loves puzzles. He needs to work on putting them together as he mostly focuses
on taking them apart.

And of course, Miles' inaugural school questionnaire. Pat and I answered the questions this year, except for his favorite TV show and what he wants to be when he grows up. 

Fingers crossed for us as we continue with our preschool adventures. I think it will be a process to get him adjusted to sharing and structure but I'm remaining optimistic.
