While Pat moved the last of our stuff into the new house, Nolan and I met up with Gigi, Yaya, and the Revards in my favorite weekend getaway spot, Port Townsend.
Nolan's favorite part of the entire trip was riding on the ferries. Despite the freezing sideways rain, Nolan insisted that we watch the boats, so we did!
Once on the boat, he went a little crazy with excitement. He pointed out every single boat, bird, wave, and anything else he saw out that window..and made sure everyone else around us saw them too.
We took the Bainbridge Ferry so the first part of our trek was on the ferry and the remainder was in the car. I was hoping that Nolan would nap once we got off the ferry but that didn't happen. He was too content watching movies on Yaya's DVD player.
I'm not complaining though, at least he was quiet. We've had a few disastrous road trips where we all end up frazzled and crazy by the time we get to our destination. This trip was nice and relaxing and we got to Port Townsend just in time for some statue posing and lunch.
Cam, Em and Clementine arrived after lunch and the kids visited the Museum at Fort Warden. It's tiny but the kids played in there for a good hour. The next day, the rain took a break but it was still pretty chilly out. We bundled up the kids and headed to the beach for some kite flying.
Everyone got a turn!
I think I'll wait until some warmer weather to go again.
