Point Defiance

My sister kicked off this Zoo trip party with her post earlier tonight which prompted/pressured me into getting my pics up too. The big kids, Nolan and Clementine went to Zoo camp together for 2 days this last week. They learned about farm animals, made butter, planted seeds and I'm sure many other things. I could only get, "It was fun!" out of Nolan so who knows what went down there.

On the last day of camp, we took all the kids to the zoo. This was Miles' first trip to Point Defiance and quite possibly the hottest day EVER! I unfortunately didn't take too many pics as I got there late and we only had 1.5 hours before closing...it was a super quick visit.

I made up for my lateness by buying everyone ice creams. I think they forgave me.

Nolan was on a mission, he only wanted to see the sharks. Clementine was not as excited and didn't want to go in at all. At the last minute she changed her mind though and bravely walked in. Nolan offered to hold her hand so she wouldn't be scared...I melted! Seriously, it was a sauna in there, but I was also very proud of my little gentleman.

They had a great time picking out their favorite shark, all while holding hands.

Nolan was oddly at peace in that shark exhibit, watching them swim around and around.

After a short break the kids energy came back full force and they started pretending Miles was afraid of the sharks. Every time a shark swam by they would shriek and squeeze Miles extra tight.

Miles was not afraid at all of course, but it was a fun game for them.

Clementine wanted a picture with the big grumpy fish. Is he the new Grumpy Cat?
 They're twins!

By the end of the day we were sweaty and tired. Dutch was practicing his big boy walk so Nolan snagged the free ride...smart boy!
