Beach Vacation Day 2

Day 2 was supposed to be the big Pirate day. Nolan put on his Pirate best and we headed down to the festival (which was one block from our house). I thought Nolan would be all over it, especially when we saw the Pirate train!

Yeah, no. He saw the Pirates and immediately clammed up, which is not like him at all. Here is our one picture of him at the festival before he threw a big fit. We decided a change of scenery was in order.

 Welcome to Seaside indeed!

Pat came here on vacations as a kid but I had never been. He wanted to take Nolan on the bumper cars first thing.

Nolan was making all kinds of faces in the pictures but he was having a blast. Yelling and giggling with people who bumped into them and pointing daddy in the direction to bump next.

Meanwhile, Miles was enjoying his first Pronto Pup. It's no surprise that he was a huge fan.

We hit the arcade next, which we all enjoyed. I played skee ball which is why there are no pictures.

Last stop the carousel, Nolan originally chose the giraffe but quickly learned that it didn't go up and down. So he jumped on a horse instead.

Miles could've gone on the carousel too but had to give up his lollipop. He made his choice.

After Seaside we met up with Uncle Lee in Cannon Beach for a lunch and then it was back home. How I ended up with zero pictures in Cannon Beach is beyond me, oh yeah, it was Miles turn to throw a fit, I'm fairly sure the boys signed up for shifts or something.

#1 on my vacation bucket list was to have a bonfire on the beach, so even though the weather was still a little damp we headed down to the beach and hoped for the best.

I was on operation Keep Miles Away from Fire. So we took stroll down the beach.

So. Much. Sand! He didn't even seem to care that it was all over his face, he would just roll around in it and stick his face straight in. Poor Washington baby with his rocky beaches. :(

Uncle Lee surprised Nolan with a new guitar and put it right to work by the fire.

It cracks me up how serious they look singing here, I'm pretty sure they were singing silly songs since Nolan chose what they were about and Lee and Pat took turns making up the words.

While Miles was contained it was Noli's turn for a stroll. I think he was still tired because he was very still for the first time all trip. Or maybe it was a promise of S'mores if he let me take his picture.

Lee is a newby photographer too so he had his camera on him all weekend. Which meant I finally got in a few. I'm going to ignore my crazy hair, no makeup and denim on denim outfit and enjoy that I am actually IN A PICTURE! woohoo!

Plus a family picture too, I was heaven!

Pretty quickly after s'mores, the rain came back in, lovely sideways rain. We hurried to put the fire out, grab our stuff and run back to the house already soaked. Nolan declared it the best day ever!
